Leganto Library reading lists

A guide for course instructors on using reading lists

Request partial digitisation

If you wish to add a chapter or article that the Library holds in print, or which you have a copy of, you can request for it to be placed on the List, as long as copyright allows.

This option is not available for Library resources already available as e-books or e-journals.

A. Search in the Library Search box for the print item.

B. Ensure the print item is available at an ANU Library branch.

C. Click Add and Edit, to select the chapter you want digitised. It will be added to your list, and the Editing Pane opens.

D. You MUST choose a Type: Book Chapter, the title of the Chapter and Start & End pages to be digitised. If preferred, limit the dates this citation appears in the Reading List.

E. Click Save

F. Important: add a tag Request Part Digitisation. Library staff will be alerted to your request.

Example

Select the item from the Catalogue. Add it to the List Section.

search for a chapter to digitise

Add the details of the chapter or section to be digitised

Add a tag

Below, the instructor has clicked Add Tag to see tag options in a dropdown menu and selected Request Part Digitisation. This lets the Library know to digitise part of this book. The instructor needs to specify which part should be digitised by editing the resource in the Library Discussion pane.

Note: to be copyright compliant, commonly only one chapter or 10% can be digitised by the Library.
