Leganto Library reading lists

A guide for course instructors on using reading lists

Access and edit your reading list details

Navigate to your course page in Wattle. Click the course reading list link.

A -  Your list will be associated with the course for which you are an instructor in Wattle. It has already been published to students and is available for you to edit now. Click on the list title to view it.

Click the ellipsis in the top right corner (…) and in the reading list options select edit.

B - edit the title if necessary.

Tip: use the course code and course name to title your list so it is clear and consistent for students i.e. FILM1000 – Cinema from Silent to Sound

C - add a description (optional, but can be helpful to students).

D - the default date set by the Library for your list will match the course dates, but you can edit these dates if you wish.

E - you may enter a syllabus URL or upload a file. This is not required. Click save.

Manage course association (if required)

Return to the (…) menu and select manage course association.

  1. Enter the number of students enrolled in the course: this assists the library to allocate enough ebooks and physical copies of resources. Click update & close
  2. Associate this list to another course if it uses the exact same resources. Search for the course, and save.

Customise whether student discussion will be enabled

Return to the (…) menu and select configure list discussions.

Decide if you would like to hide student discussion at the list level. If enabled, you’ll notice Student Discussion (number of comments) is displayed in the right discussion pane.

Please note: The Library does not monitor student discussions in reading lists.
