How to find cases considering legislation

Go to Cases in Westlaw and click on Advanced Search. In the Legislation Cited (Title) search box, enter the title of the act you want to find cases related to and in the Legislation Cited (Provision) box, enter the relevant section number.

1. In the Legislation Title search box, enter the title of the act you want to find cases related to, and in the Provision Number box, enter the relevant section number.

2. Include the Jurisdiction from the list to narrow your results.

1. In LawNow (browse by jurisdiction), navigate to the Act and section (e.g. Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s15AA). Click on the View Legislation Citator link.

2. Click on the Cases link to find cases judicially considered.

NOTE: You can also find related, subscribed secondary materials, such as journal articles, encyclopaedia entries and book chapters.
