Online Commentaries

AGLC 7.8 (AGLC4)

Use the rule for Looseleaf Services.

Online commentaries are cited as follows:

Publisher - the publisher's name should adhere to rule 5.3.1. Where an author of a commentary is clearly identified the author's name should be included before the publisher, followed by a comma.

Title (online at date of retrieval) - italicise the title, put at date of retrieval in round brackets.

Paragraph or pinpoint - in square brackets.

Where an author of a commentary is clearly identified the author’s name should appear before the publisher, followed by a comma.

Examples:

LexisNexis, Australian Corporation Practice (online at 7 October 2018) [1.012].

Sidney Tilmouth, LexisNexis, Australian Criminal Trial Directions (online at 30 June 2018) [5-800-13].

CCH Australia, Australian Torts Commentary (online at 21 March 2019) ¶7-450. (Where a commentary uses a paragraph symbol this should precede the number and should not be in square brackets).
