A guide to using the ANU Library search and discovery platform

Simple search

simple search is the best way to get an understanding of the scope of resources available to you.

Begin your search from the ANU Library homepage.

Navigate through your results or select New Library Search to start again.

Search tips

These search tips will help you get started:

  • Simple search defaults to searching everything. Filter by selecting Course Readings or Library Catalogue to narrow your results.
  • Searching for a particular resource? Try entering just the title, instead of using the full citation.
  • When using Boolean operators remember to capitalise - AND, OR, NOT
  • Leave out punctuation.
  • If you are topic searching, put in the most relevant words first.
  • Check your spelling.
  • Try the Library Databases A-Z to find more specialised content.
