Finding Library Resources

Find books using the Catalogue

The ANU Library Catalogue contains all items and subscriptions owned or licensed by the Library. Searching the ANU catalogue allows you to find a range of resources from the collection, including:

  • Books and ebooks
  • Journals and Journal articles
  • Newspapers
  • Audio visual material
  • Trade journals and magazines
  • Maps
  • Much more!

However, the catalogue is the best way to find books, whether you are looking for physical books, or ebooks. The catalogue searches the library's whole book collection, and allows you to filter your search to find books only, by format, date, and more.

You can search the catalogue using keywords, the title of the resource you're looking for, or by author. Not sure how to find something? Check out Search Tips for help.

Looking for physical items only?

By default, even if you select "Books" from the filtering options at the left hand side of SuperSearch, your results will include all the books in the ANU Library collection - whether they are e-books or physical books on the Library shelves.

If you want to limit your search to only physical books, use the filtering option Held by Library. This will only show you books that are available in hardcopy - even if there is also an e-book version as well.
