Library Research

SuperSearch

SuperSearch is the Library's discovery platform, which enables you to search virtually the entire collection of print and electronic materials. It's particularly useful when searching for full text journal articles, newspapers, magazines, theses, reports, reviews and other online resources, although it can also be used in place of the Library's catalogue.

How to Search

Simply enter your search terms into the search box located on the Library’s home page, and click GO. You can also use Boolean Operators, Wildcards, and/or Truncators to increase the specificity of your searches, if you wish.

Your search results may be narrowed down (limited) by using the filters found on the left-hand side of the search results screen. You may wish to limit your results to only those for which the full text is available online, otherwise they will include both electronic and printed materials. Similarly, limiting your results to only those drawn from scholarly and/or peer-reviewed sources will help to ensure that the materials you find are accurate, reliable and authoritative.

You can further refine your search by specifying the type of content you wish to review, as well as the dates of publication. Materials can also be viewed by academic discipline, if you wish to examines a topic from a particular perspective. Applying subject heading filters will help to ensure your search results are even more relevant to your search terms.
