Leganto Reading List LibGuide

Submitting your list to the Library

When should my reading list be sent to the Library for processing?

The sooner you can send a list (or section) to the library for processing the better! Four to six weeks before the start of semester/teaching period is recommended.

Why can’t my students see their Reading List?

  • Is the list published? This might fix the issue.
  • If the list is published but still not accessible to students, check that the Leganto reading list is associated to the correct Course.
  • Is the student enrolled in the Course? Students will only be able to see reading lists for units they are enrolled in.

My students see some of the citations in the List, but others are visible only to me. Why?

Only citations which have been processed by the Library, and marked complete, are visible to students. Citations which do not require Library review will be visible and accessible once the instructor selects publish. Citations that may breach copyright will not be visible until copyright issues are resolved, so please communicate with the Library regarding these.

Adding items

Can I make copies of articles and book chapters available through Wattle/Canvas?

Copies of book chapters and journal articles can be made available to students in Wattle/Canvas via your Leganto Reading List. Visit the Leganto Libguide section 'Add Items to Your List'.

If you have any questions about copyright or using this service, please email library.readinglists@anu.edu.au

How do I get a chapter from a print book into a reading list for students?

To add a chapter from a print book to your reading list:

  1. Search for the book title and add the citation to your reading list (don't search by chapter title).
  2. Edit the citation to identify it as a book chapter. Include the chapter title, chapter number, and page numbers so the library knows exactly what you want.
  3. Add the Digitise tag
  4. Send the list to the library for processing.

I want to add a book or an article but I can't find it using the search function in Leganto.

  1. Add the item to Leganto either by manually creating the item or importing the item details by using the Cite it! button.
  2. Add the purchase suggestion tag and submit for publishing to the Library.

Cite it!

Why isn’t Cite it! working in my browser?

  • Make sure that 3rd party cookies are enabled in your browser.
  • Update your Cite it! bookmarklet by uninstalling it and reinstalling it.
  • Some web pages can not be read by the Cite it! tool. If this happens, create a record manually (make sure you include the URL of the source).
