Country, Company and Industry Research

Overseas companies

Many of the ANU Library's databases have an Australian focus. While it is often quite easy to find information on large, public international companies, finding information on medium to small companies based overseas can be challenging. If you can't find any information on the company you're interested in on the following databases, try exploring Google to search for company websites that may have annual reports available.

Access company profile reports from Acquisdata; Canadean; Experian Commercial Risk Database; ICD Research Reports; and World Market Intelligence.

To search for company reports:

  • Click on the Advanced Search link. Enter the name of a company into the top search box e.g. "Rio Tinto"
  • Use the drop-down menu at the right of the page to limit your search to the Document title - TI of each report.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page. Navigate to the Document type box. Place a tick in the checkbox next to Company Profile.

Company Register Sites

Wikipedia provides a list of company registry websites from around the world.

When searching on Google for international companies, use the "Site:" tag to limit your search to a particular country domain, for example:

  • The United Kingdom - site: .co.uk
  •  The Netherlands - site: .nl
  • Japan - site: .jp
