The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) is a world-renowned research and publishing organisation with extensive collections. The organisation's aim is too promote knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, traditions, languages and stories, past and present.

The Australian Government's Indigenous portal is designed to connect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with official policies and programs, and to raise awareness about the initiatives affecting them and their communities. The site shares stories from individuals, communities, and organisations across Australia, telling real stories about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, the challenges and opportunities facing them, and the successes and achievements being demonstrated every day.

Includes access to Human Rights commission reports, data and advocacy work. The Commission keeps social justice issues before the Australian Government and promotes community understanding and respect for the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Australians Together is privately funded through philanthropists with a heart to see change in this country. By listening to the voices of Indigenous Australians, they help non-Indigenous people learn the true story of Australia's shared history, understand how it’s still having an impact today, and imagine new ways to live together more respectfully.

Black Rainbow is a 100% Indigenous owned and operated not-for-profit advocacy group, supporting LGBTQI Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, their families, and communities. They are committed to improving both physical and mental health outcomes for members of the Indigenous LGBTQI community around Australia, and place special emphasis on those who are homeless, enduring domestic violence, or have just exited the justice system.

Founded in 2013, First Languages Australia serves to educate, communicate, and advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders having full command and control of their languages. They act as a go-between, facilitating dialogue between Government, the education sector, the media, community and partner organisations, as well as the wider Australian community. Raising considerable awareness of Indigenous language issues, they work to ensure Australia's first languages continue to thrive as part of the living heritage of our country.

Established in 2001, Jawun (which means ‘friend’ in the Kuku Yalanji language of Cape York, Queensland) is an innovative not-for-profit organisation. It partners with Indigenous communities in place-based capacity building, to empower Indigenous-led change and foster meaningful connections between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.

NAIDOC celebrations are held around Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The week is celebrated not just in the Indigenous communities, but also in increasing numbers of government agencies, schools, local councils and workplaces. For decades, the idea of a National Indigenous Arts and Cultural Authority (NIACA) has emerged and re-emerged in recognition of the unique place of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts as the world’s premier continuous cultural tradition. A NIACA would acknowledge and assist with the ongoing responsibilities and obligations for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to maintain, control, protect and nurture this inheritance and its myriad contemporary creative expressions. The First Nations arts and cultural sector has identified a significant gap in existing structures and is working towards agreement to create a NIACA.

The National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) was established on 1 July 2019 and is committed to improving the lives of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. They recognize that each community is unique, and the team includes people around Australia who are working closely with communities to make sure policies, programmes, and services address these unique needs.

Reconciliation Australia is an independent, not-for-profit organisation whose vision is for a just, equitable and reconciled Australia, one in which all Australians are enabled and inspired to contribute to the reconciliation of the nation.
