E-books

A guide to electronic books at the ANU Library

Downloading to a device

Once you have chosen an e-book, clicking on its title allows access to the e-book detail page. The menu on the left provides you with the option to access the PDF full-text, or to Download the e-book, for offline reading. Additional functionality on the right-hand side of the viewer, allows users to perform functions such as citing, printing, emailing, saving, exporting to a reference manager, or sharing the text.

To download an e-book, click on the Download This eBook link. You'll then need to create a new Account or Sign In to My EBSCOhost. It is free and easy to create your account. Please remember your user name and password for signing in next time.

Once you're signed in, you'll be given the option to Checkout & Download the e-book in PDF format, and you'll be given the choice of a loan period between 1 and 7 days. Viewing Requirements are listed at this stage, and outline the software needed to view the e-book on differing digital platforms. Detailed help can be accessed by clicking on the question mark symbol. And remember, once your specified loan period has expired, you'll need to download the book again, if you wish to continue using it.
