To make the best use of your ORCID record and iD, for yourself and others, we recommend that you:

1. Optimise your ORCID record by adding

• Researcer IDs (i.e. Scopus ID, Web of Science/Publons ID)
• Works ie. Research outputs
• Education background
• Employment History and Affiliations
• Funding
• Keywords
• Websites such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Google Scholar

2. Connect your ORCID

• Connect your ORCID to publishers, funders and other service providers
• Connect your ORCID to RP+ Portal at ANU

3. Keep your ORCID record up-to-date by

• Add information on new publications to Works, using either bulk upload or manual entry
• Update your Employment details should you change your position or be associated with another institution
• ​Add new grants as you receive them

4. Add your ORCID iD when submitting

• Articles to journals for publication
• Grant applications to funding agencies
• Papers/presentations and posters to conference organizers
• Books and book chapters to publishers
