Increasing your research impact : how to guide

Citation alerts

Manage your search alerts, author citation alerts, and document citation alerts with these steps. You may need to create your own login to access alerts.

Scopus

Step 1: Under Author Search, enter the name of the author, then click on the search icon. 

Step 2: Check the box beside the correct author profile(s) and click View Citation Overview. Note: When you select more than one profile, the Scopus Author ID will not be displayed.

Web of Science 

Step 1: Run a search from the Search or Advanced Search page to find the document for which you want to create a Citation Alert.

Step 2: Open the full record for the article.

Step 3: Click on Create Citation Alert. Step 4: Choose options for your alerts.

Google Scholar Citations

Step 1: Find the reference in Google Scholar.

Step 2: Click on the Cited by link below the record.

Step 3: Then click on the Create Alert link on the left.
