It is mutually understood that Licensed Materials and “TDM Output” (the result of any Text and Data Mining activity or operation, capable of fixation, reproduction and/or communication in any form) provided or generated under this Agreement may be retained by Authorized Users throughout the full lifecycle of the TDM project, including for publication, and as necessary for replication and validation of research results.

In all such cases, Authorized User is required to cite the appropriate journal as the source of the data and to indicate that the results or views expressed are entirely those of the author; (e) Make TDM results or conclusions available on an externally facing website (in response to a search query, for example) subject to the limitations in section 2 .
AustLit - University of Queensland : 2023-24	Text and data mining	Permitted	Authorised Users, for Educational Purposes only, are permitted to use the Licensed Material to: 1. perform and engage in text mining/data mining activities for academic research and other Educational Purposes and allow Authorised Users to mount, load and use the results in accordance with this Licence; 2. display or distribute any part of the Licensed Material on any electronic network (including the internet) other than by a Secure Network. For the avoidance of doubt, text-mining and data-mining output as referred to in Clause 3.1.5.7 can be displayed and distributed on any electronic network, including the internet, provided that such output does not contain copies of copyright works owned or licensed to the Publisher. American Medical Association : JAMA - 2024	Text and data mining	Permitted	AMA is extending text and data mining rights to researchers at subscribing institutions worldwide for non-commercial research purposes. Authorized users can register for limited rights to text and data mine (TDM) online content for non-commercial purposes by agreeing to abide by the provisions of this special license for Registered Users.
BioOne - 2024	Text and data mining	Permitted	Authorized Users, subject to section 4, may use Text and Data Mining (TDM) technologies to derive information from the Licensed Materials.
Brill : Read and Publish - 2024	Text and data mining	Permitted	Authorised Users, for Educational and Research Purposes only, are permitted to download and make copies of the whole or any parts of the Licensed Material for the purposes of, and to perform and engage in computational analysis (including text and data mining) using the Licensed Material for the purpose of research and other Educational Purposes but not for Commercial Use, and to permit Authorised Users to distribute and display and otherwise use (publicly or otherwise), other than for Commercial Use, the results, provided that such results do not reproduce the whole or a substantial part of any Licensed Content. British Online Archives - 2022	Text and data mining	Permitted	The Licensee may permit its Affiliated Users to perform and engage in text mining/data mining activities in relation to the Publication for legitimate academic research and other non-commercial educational purposes without obtaining the Licensor's prior written consent.
Cambridge University Press	Text and data mining	Permitted	Authorised Users may download, extract, store and index the Products for the purposes of TDM and maymount, load, integrate and analyse the results of TDM on their personal devices or Secure Network. Any copiesof the Products accessed or reproduced by an Authorised User for the purposes of TDM must be deleted oncethe analysis of the results of the TDM is complete. Elsevier : Read and Publish - 2023-25	Text and data mining	Permitted - Requires pre-approval from JHUP	The Licensee may, subject to the use restrictions set out in this Section 3.6.3, for academic research purposes only: text and data mine the ScienceDirect Subscribed Product dataset via the agreed delivery method and load and integrate the results (the “TDM Output”) on the Licensee’s internal system for access by Authorized Users; and share the TDM Output externally, subject to the following notice: 3.6.1 Upon completion of the relevant text and data mining project, the Licensee will immediately and permanently delete all copies (including back-ups or otherwise) of the ScienceDirect Subscribed Product dataset, but the Licensee may retain a copy of the TDM Output for academic research purposes subject to the terms and conditions as set out in this License. Notwithstanding the aforesaid, copies made under this Clause 3.6 required to be made for purposes of research data retention by Licensee, if and to the extent needed to comply with government and/or funding body data management requirements, may be retained, either for such period of time as may be required by such government and/or funding body, or otherwise for so long as reasonably required to be retained by the Licensee for such purpose. 3.6.2 The ScienceDirect Subscribed Product dataset and any TDM Output may be accessed, processed, or hosted by, third party vendors retained by the Licensee only with the express written permission of the Publisher and solely for the purposes as set out in this Section 3.6. The Licensee will ensure that the third party vendor will not ingest the ScienceDirect Subscribed Product dataset for any other reasons as defined in this License, will keep such ScienceDirect Subscribed Product dataset secure in accordance with the terms of this License, and will have no right or ability to use the ScienceDirect Subscribed Product dataset in any other product or service offering. The Licensee shall ensure that the third party vendor shall immediately delete the ScienceDirect Subscribed Product dataset and TDM Output from its servers upon termination or expiration of this License or, if earlier, the License between the Licensee and the third party vendor. 3.6.3 The Licensee and its Authorized Users may not create any derivative work (including TDM Output) in a way that would compete with or have the potential to substitute and/or replicate and/or reverse engineer back to any existing Elsevier products, services and/or solutions including a substantial part thereof or otherwise commercially use or allow commercial use of the derivative work (including TDM Output).
IEEE Electronic Library - 2024	Text and data mining	PERMITTED - Contact library staff	Licensee and its Authorized Users may, only for scholarly and research purposes, perform and engage in TDM provided that Licensee notifies IEEE prior to performance or engagement of each TDM activity or operation. Licensee and IEEE will mutually determine how Licensee and its Authorized Users may access and use the Licensed Products to perform or engage in TDM. Licensee and its Authorized Users may make available or share and/or utilize TDM Output so long as the results are not used for commercial purposes or to substitute the Licensed Products.
IOP Publishing : Read and Publish - 2023-25	Text and data mining	Permitted	The Customer will be permitted to carry out text and data mining of the Publications, in accordance with the terms set out in Schedule 6 - 1. The Customer may load and technically format the Publications on their or a third party server that enables access to and use of the Publications for Text and Data Mining purposes by Authorised Users by using automated programs or devices to continuously and automatically (i) download, extract and index information from the Publications for the purpose of enhanced navigation of the Publications and (ii) extract semantic entities from the Publications for the purpose of recognition and classification of the relations between them and (iii) derive patterns within the Publications and (iv) evaluate and interpret the TDM Output. IOP excludes any warranty regarding the quality of the metadata, formatting and errors or omissions. The Publications are made available “as is” and without warranty of fitting the description of the Publications in the metadata or otherwise, any fitness for purpose, satisfactory quality, reliability and completeness. 2. Except as expressly stated in this Licence, or otherwise permitted in writing by IOP, the Customer and Authorised Users shall not in respect of Text and Data Mining: 2.1 perform systematic or substantive extracting of the Publications for the purposes of creating a product or service for use by third parties; 2.2 utilise the TDM Output to enhance institutional or subject repositories in a way that could compete with the value of the final peer reviewed articles in the Publications, or substitute and/or replicate any other existing IOP product, service and/or solution; 2.3 extract, develop or use the Publications in any commercial activity other than for Text and Data Mining; 2.4 abridge, modify, translate or create any derivative work based on the Publications, except to the extent necessary to make it perceptible on a computer screen to Authorised Users; 2.5 use any robots, spiders, crawlers or other automated downloading programs, algorithms or devices to continuously and automatically search, scrape, extract, deep link, index or disrupt the working of the Publications; and/or 2.6 substantially reproduce, retain or redistribute the Publications. 3. Authorised Users are free to use the TDM Output and any database rights created as a result of Text and Data Mining activities are the sole property of the Authorised Users. Such TDM Output shall be licensed under a Creative Commons CC-BY NC ND licence, include a link to the DOI of the applicable article wherever practicable and include a maximum of 200 characters from the original article. 4. Any rights of the Customer to carry out Text and Data Mining of the Publications shall only apply whilst this Licence is in force and, upon termination of this Licence for any reason, those rights shall cease automatically save in so far as they relate to any issues of the Publications in which the Customer has continued access rights under this Licence. Accordingly, upon termination, the Customer shall delete from their and all third party servers all other issues of the Publications that it has stored for Text and Data Mining, unless necessary for purposes of reproducibility.
John Benjamins Publishing : Read and Publish - 2024	Text and data mining	Permitted - Terms and conditions apply: must delete after analysis complete, use of API preferred, no commercial use	Where the Licensed Content is owned by the Publisher, the Institution shall be entitled to permit Authorized Users, for Educational and Research Purposes only, to download and make copies of the whole or any parts of the Licensed Material for the purposes of, and to perform and engage in computational analysis (including text and data mining) using the Licensed Material, aside from Commercial Use, and to permit Authorized Users to distribute and display and otherwise use (publicly or otherwise), other than for Commercial Use, the results, provided that such results do not reproduce the whole or a substantial part of any Licensed Content. Notwithstanding the aforesaid, copies made under this Clause 3.3.9 required to be made for purposes of research data retention by Licensee, if and to the extent needed to comply with government and/or funding body data management requirements, may be retained, either for such period of time as may be required by such government and/or funding body, or otherwise for so long as reasonably required to be retained by the Licensee for such purpose. The Publisher hereby acknowledges that any copyright and database rights arising from any computational analysis (including any text mining/data mining) of the Licensed Material referred to in Clause 3.3.9 shall, as between the Institution and Authorized User on the one hand, and the Publisher (and any licensor of the Publisher or other rights holder in the Licensed Materials), on the other, be the property of the relevant Authorized Users or the Institution, as the case may be.
Johns Hopkins University Press : Project MUSE journal - 2024	Text and data mining		Provided that the copyright header attached to the article is retained, authorized users at the Subscriber's institution may subject to prior notification and approval by JHUP, use the Licensed Materials to perform and engage in text mining/data mining activities for academic research, scholarship and other educational purposes. Authorized Users may utilize and share the results of text and data mining and make the results available for use by others, so long as the purpose is not to create a product for use by third parties that would substitute for the Licensed Material.

MIT Press: D2O - 2024	Text and data mining	Permitted - Requires access granted by MIT Press	Authorized user may use the Subscribed Content to perform and engage in textand/or data-mining activities ("TDM") for academic research, scholarship, and other educational, noncommercial purposes; utilize and share the results of TDM in the Authorized User’s scholarly work with proper attribution; and make the results available for use by others for the foregoing purposes; all provided the Authorized User’s work product is not such as would substitute for the Subscribed Content, a substantial portion of any monograph included in the Subscribed Content, or any material subset of the Subscribed Content. TDM may be conducted only where special access has been granted by MIT Press; no extra fees shall be charged for such access. TDM conducted by the use of scripts or scraping in order to extract content from MIT Press web sites is not permitted. Downloaded metadata and Subscribed Content may be stored locally for the duration of a TDM project but must be permanently deleted upon completion of the project.
OECD : iLibrary & IEA Statistics - 2024	Text and data mining	Permitted	Authorised Users may use OECD Subscribed Material to perform and engage in text/data mining activities (TDM) for academic research and other educational purposes. The results of these activities can be mounted, loaded and integrated on a secure internal network and used in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Authorised Users may not display or distribute any part of the OECD Subscribed Material on any electronic network, including the Internet. Authorised Users may, however, display or distribute OECD Subscribed Material via a secure internal network for the limited purposes described in these Terms and Conditions. The OECD reserves the right to limit or suspend any IP address’s access to text/data mining activities at any time and without notice for any reason, including if the OECD determines that You are using or are attempting to use the text/data mining activities and/or the collected text/data in violation of these Terms and Conditions, in such a way as to harm the OECD or any other party, or if You are placing too great a strain on the infrastructure necessary for making the OECD Subscribed Material available to a reasonable number of people. You agree not to use any technical means to interfere with the OECD’s monitoring of usage of the above-mentioned resources. The OECD reserves the right to use any technical means to overcome attempted technical interference with usage monitoring.

Royal Society of Chemistry : e journals & databases addendum 8 - 2024	Text and data mining	Permitted - Users must make request via tdm@rsc.org beforehand	Publisher licenses Customer and Authorised Users to download, extract and index information from the Publisher Content and, where required, load and integrate theresults on a server used for the Customer’s or Authorised User’s text mining system andevaluate and interpret the text and data mining (“TDM”) output for access and use by the Authorised User carrying out the TDM (“TDM User”) and other Authorised Users. Customer ensures that all TDM is carried out under the other conditions of this Clause 2. TDM may be undertaken on either locally loaded Publisher Content or as mutually agreed. Sage : Read and Publish - 2023-25	Text and data mining	Permitted	Authorized Users shall be permitted to extract or use information contained in the Product for Educational Purposes, including, but not limited to, text and data mining, extraction and manipulation of information for the purposes of illustration, explanation, example, comment, criticism, teaching, research, or analysis. Authorized Users may use the licensed material to perform and engage in Text Mining /data mining activities for legitimate academic research and other Educational Purposes. Those uses beyond educational use shall require SAGE’s permission.
Sage : Research Methods - 2023	Text and data mining	Permitted - Requires pre-approval from JHUP	Downloading articles from Sage Journals for the purposes of text and data mining is expressly permitted in our standard licence agreements and our terms of use for no extra fee. Authorized users do not need to ask permission to systematically download articles provided that: 1. They only use the articles for non-commercial text and data mining. 2. They only download articles to which they have legitimate access, for example if the articles are open access or part of your institution's subscription. 3. They respect the following limits when downloading SJ content: (a) 1 request every 6 seconds – Monday to Friday between Midnight and Noon in the "America/Los_Angeles" timezone; (b) 1 request every 2 seconds - Monday to Friday between Noon and Midnight in the "America/Los_Angeles" timezone, and all day Saturday and Sunday. 4. They agree to the terms of use and re-use detailed in Sage's standard text and data mining licence. Sage also supports text and data mining for commercial purposes. For medical and life science content, Sage participate in the Copyright Clearance Center's RightFind XML for Mining. For other subject areas, users can contact Sage to request permission and access to their content.

Taylor & Francis : Read and Publish - 2023-25	Text and data mining	Permitted - Requires pre-approval from JHUP	Subject to Clause 4, where the Licensed Content is owned or licensed by the Publisher, the Institution shall be entitled to permit Authorised Users, for Educational and Research Purposes only: to download and makes single copies of the whole or any parts of the Licensed Material for the purposes of, and to perform and engage in computational analysis (including text and data mining) using the Licensed Material, aside from Commercial Use, and to permit Authorised Users to distribute and display and otherwise use (publicly or otherwise), other than for Commercial Use, the results, provided that i) such results do not reproduce the whole or a substantial part of any Licensed Content and ii) the Publisher has been notified in writing in advance of this use to ensure that they can provided the appropriate technical assistance and maintain a log of projects. Copies of Licensed Content made under this Clause 3.3.9 shall be deleted promptly after the computational analysis has been completed; Notwithstanding the aforesaid, copies made under this Clause 3.3.9 required to be made for purposes of research data retention by Licensee, if and to the extent needed to comply with government and/or funding body data management requirements, may be retained, either for such period of time as may be required by such government and/or funding body, or otherwise for so long as reasonably required to be retained by the Licensee for such purpose. The Publisher hereby acknowledges that any copyright and database rights arising from any computational analysis (including any text mining/data mining) of the Licensed Material referred to in Clause 3.3.9 shall, as between the Institution and Authorised User on the one hand, and the Publisher (and any licensor of the Publisher or other rights holder in the Licensed Materials), on the other, be the property of the relevant Authorised Users or the Institution, as the case may be.
