Finding Books and More

Important notice about resource links

The ANU Library has recently transitioned to a new search and discovery system. This means that the links to the resources outlined in this guide will need to be updated, so they direct you to the record in the new system. If you come across a resource with a broken link, you can access the item by searching for the title or author in our Catalogue or SuperSearch.

If you have any questions or need support, please get in touch.

Thank you for reading our subject guides. We hope they are helpful to your studies and research.

What this guide is for

This guide has been put together to help you find books and more, using the ANU Library Catalogue.

What is the ANU Library Catalogue?

The ANU Library catalogue is one of the major tools you can use to find materials from the ANU Library collection which are relevant to your studies and research. Items in the catalogue include:

  • Print and electronic books
  • Print and electronic journals
  • Maps
  • Audio-visual materials
  • Theses
  • Music Scores
  • Official Documents
  • Pamphlets

Where do I find the catalogue?

The catalogue is accessible via the ANU Library website. You can locate it at the top of the homepage, in between the SuperSearch and Full text e-journal tabs.

How do I search the catalogue?

There are a number of ways to search the catalogue - both simple and advanced. The default is a 'keyword search' - simply enter keywords and terms which describe the subject or topic you are researching, and click GO. Alternately, you can access more specific options such as searching by Title, Subject, or Author by clicking on 'advanced catalogue search'.
