Spanish Studies

A guide to resources at the ANU Library on language and culture in the Spanish speaking world.

Finding reserve & short loan material

The items that make up the Library Reserve Collection have been chosen by teaching staff and placed under short loan conditions. They are normally specified on course reading lists and are in high demand. These materials include: copies of textbooks, online (e-reserve) articles and book chapters, and DVDs.

Only available to ANU staff and students, reserve items can be searched for and accessed via Wattle or via the Library catalogue. On the library home page search the Catalogue drop down list by course name OR lecturer's surname.

Reserve lists link to online and print resources and indicate in which library branch books are located and if they are available for two hour or two day loan.

Borrowing reserve & short loan material

Reserve and short loan collection items are either two hour or two day loan:

  • Two hour loan items are located near the information desk in each Library location. When the Library is open these items can be borrowed and used within the Library and must be returned to information desk staff on time or fines will accrue. Within two hours of library closing times most two hour loan items can be borrowed overnight. They must be returned by opening time on the next business day.
  • Two day loan items are located on the general shelves in each Library location. They must be returned by close of business on the due date.

Returning reserve & short loan material

When the Library is closed, books can be placed in the returns chute near the entrance to each Library location. Books placed in the return chute will be checked in on the date the Library reopens not the date you placed the book in the chute.

To avoid fines please make sure you return books on or before the due date.
