Explanatory Memoranda - Known in some jurisdictions as Explanatory Statements or Explanatory Notes

Title of the EM

Year

Jurisdiction - Use abbreviation and round brackets

Pinpoint - EM's have pages and paragraphs. If you pinpoint a page use only the number(s). A pinpoint reference to a paragraph should appear in square brackets.

Examples:

Explanatory Memorandum, Clean Energy Finance Corporaton Bill 2012 (Cth).

Explanatory Memorandum, Corporations Bill 2001 (Cth) 18.

Explanatory Notes, Adoption Bill 2009 (Qld) 5-6, 29.

Explanatory Note, Cemetaries and Cremetoria Bill 2013 (NSW) 7.

Explanatory Statement, Statute Law Amendment Bill 2007 (No 2) (ACT) 2-3.
