History

The definitive guide to all things History at the ANU Library

Databases

A library database is a large, searchable, online collection of published scholarly materials.

The ANU Library subscribes to over 620 scholarly databases (as at August 2022), containing many millions of searchable items, including scholarly journal articles, newspaper articles, images, streaming videos, music, and other academic publications.

If you're not sure where to begin finding scholarly journal articles, why not consider starting your search with a few databases that we have selected for you? They're amongst the best around, with all of them having been compiled by academics and experts in the field, who update them on a regular basis. For a larger selection, just click here to view the complete listing of our history databases.

Please note, the databases listed are available to ANU students and staff on and off campus. Login and password are required for remote access - remember to select the option 'ANU Library Home Page.'

Online reference databases
